MEET DAWNTRELL WILSON
I am a 20 year old Columbia College Sophomore from Rembert, SC. I am the youngest of 4 children. I am a Child Life Specialist major at Columbia College and hope to further my education and get a Master Degree in Education.
I was raised in the chuch and teach bible study and Sunday School at my home church. I hope to go to Kenya to get a better understanding of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and one day use that knowledge to educate my commmunity and inspire people to get tested.
Thank You! Dawntrell Wilson
MEET CHIVAUN STEPHENS
I am Chivaun Stephens from Brooklyn, New York. I am sophomore at Columbia College in pursuit of a bachelors degree in mathematics with a certification to teach at high school level. In one of my classes, we are learning about social justice and diversity. Through this class and a partnership with Palmetto AIDS Life Services (PALSS) I'm learning how HIV/AIDS affects our society in the U.S. and abroad.
I would like to continue with this by traveling to Kenya Africa and working hands on with individuals that are infected with the disease.
Thank You! Chivaun Stephens
MEET INDRIA GAMBLE
I am Indria Gamble from Greeleyville, South Carolina. I am sophomore at Columbia College majoring in Child and Family Studies on the Child Life Specialist Track with a minor in Communications. I grew up in church, therefore I am a strong believer in Christianity; I am a full time student, however, I do a lot in my spare time, mostly volunteer work.
My passion is to help others; ever since I was a little girl, I had this willpower to go and help others. My inspiration for wanting to go to Kenya, Africa is my religion. I want to help others simply because it is the Godly thing to do; helping these families in Africa is what I am currently focused on. I would like to observe and work with families living with HIV. Though it may be impossible, I want to live in their shoes and feel what they feel--how they are viewed by the rest of the world; this will help me to undestand what they go through on a day to day basis and it will also help me in my mission of advocacy for those who are living with HIV/AIDS.
As a Columbia College student, I've grown to believe that I am a leader in many ways. In order to be a leader, one must guide in the right ways. I believe by going to Kenya and helping these families will give me the strength and determination to carry out my endeavors as a student, leader, Christian and friend. I thank all of you who are supporting New Life Productions as well as me, a college student trying to make a difference.
God Bless! Indria Gamble
MEET TIERRA CARROLL
I am Tierra Carroll from Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. I am currently a sophomore at Columbia College studying Psychology and Child and Family Studies. My life consists of God, school, work and volunteering to help others help themselves.
My inspiration for my quest to Kenya, Africa is the children and their families. The main reason I am going to Kenya is I want to experience their way of living and observe their lives to get a true experience of what it is to live with HIV/AIDS in Africa. In regards to the children, I want to observe the affects of children losing their parents to HIV/AIDS.
I am most honored to have everyone reach out and help me help myself to fund the trip to Kenya. I know with God in front of it all, it can only be a good thing. I thank all who has, will, and may contribute to buy tickets.
Thank You! Tierra Carroll
