Cast from stage play "Lost Dreams"
In 2010, NLP began reaching out to talented writers and directors in Columbia and surrounding areas to produce their original works and provide an opportunity for them to direct original or classical theatrical productions. The objective is to have these artists have their “voice” heard from the interesting and beautiful scripts that they have written and to molding actors into the characters written by playwrights.
NLP is soliciting and seeking new works from emerging playwrights. Our goal is to make the following available:
- Provide a platform for new playwrights to have their new and unproduced work read by actors and presented to the community either as a reading or full production.
- Offer constructive criticism on new and unproduced works and guidance on the next phase in getting their work produced.
NLP is looking for "guest" directors to either direct readings or full productions. We will look at new works and classic works that fit into NLP's mission and artistic goal.
"Guest" directors are encouraged to embrace and develop their distinct vision and voice in directing a show that is produced by NLP.
All interested "guest" directors should submit their inquiries to the Artistic Director of NLP via email at [email protected].
NLP is open to expanding acting opportunities to actors with or without stage experience. However, there has to be a level of commitment from actors that are cast in a reading or stage production.
Actors interested in auditioning for NLP for future performances, please submit your resume and headshot (if applicable) to the Artistic Director via email at [email protected]. Please type in subject line “Actor”.
Stage Managers and Stage Crew
NLP is open to expanding opportunities for persons who are interested in being involved in theatre but prefer to work behind the scenes.
